Hey,

I hope you’re doing well! I wanted to thank you for joining me this past Saturday, as I had the immense privilege to share this year’s new package with you as well as this great contest around Alex’s “Little Red Wonder” electric mandolin! What a treat!!!

Presenting this contest truly was my favorite part of the show, as I was remembering how cool it was to stand right beside Alex as he was “gently” and “lovingly” introducing this Little Red Wonder to Moose’s cymbals! I even had to put my feet on the cymbal stand sometimes as it couldn’t handle Alex’s passion on its own!!! I miss being on the road so bad which makes this contest even more exciting as it carries so many unforgettable moments and emotions with it! This electric mandolin is so singular, so meaningful, something above and beyond a musical instrument, which would already be quite amazing, but this one in particular has so much history attached to it, it simply makes it priceless!

This instrument truly is the extension of the powerful connection Alex had with you who were there every night during the past tour. How this passion was materialized wasn’t about breaking something beautiful, but about bringing this connection to the next level! We’ve been craving this human connection for years, and you’ve been so generous with us night after night, that this was Alex’s very passionate way to say “thank you so much, this is what it feels like to be alive after those years of human connection deprivation and total absence of what’s more than necessary!” 

This is also why he was inviting some of you on stage with this mandolin guitar in hands, since those concerts, those evenings, were not about Alex, nor about The Long Shadows, but about us all in the room, giving birth to something way greater than our own self, connecting on something so real that it will forever live within ourselves! When someone from the audience comes on stage with Alex’s instrument in their hands and starts raging with us is the perfect embodiment of what those evenings were all about; us shining brighter as we rose up again! 

I will have the opportunity to sit down with Alex in the upcoming weeks, asking him questions about his mandolin, starting with how he plays with it, why he gives it to someone in the audience at some point, why he hits those cymbals in the end, and finally, why he’s now giving it away to a very lucky member of The Club! Feel free to send me any questions you might have as I truly want us to go deeply through everything surrounding this great passion of his, how he lived it, how he created it and incarnated it night after night!  

THE JOURNEY BEGINS

I always like to do those live shows, introducing not only the technical aspects of The Club, but also its spirit and soul that inspire us all so much! It’s been a little over two years since I became the host of The Club, and it’s been such a privilege for me to share and build with you throughout this singular journey around Alex’s creative universe! This year makes no exception as we’re entering a new season of this journey, now being the time for Alex and us all in The Long Shadows to work on new music! We’ll have an exciting year and I’ll be welcoming you into Alex’s very eclectic and creative universe and upcoming musical projects! 

Since I had the chance to welcome several new members following this past Saturday live broadcast, I thought it was really important to share this year’s theme and new package designs with you! I really can’t wait to see what this will unveil for us, and how we’ll manage to get closer as we travel through it, and how this year will make things brighter as we rise up again! 

Sometimes, the unexpected emergence of new vibrant sensations reveals some pieces of tomorrow’s foreseeing images, made of fragments of memories, of faded fractions of long-gone shivering emotions, all reflecting flashes of untainted words, of emancipated sounds awaiting to be, from which I can discern the shadowing motion of life’s rebirth as we slowly awaken from brokenhearted hopelessness…

Restored, revived, renewed.
Liberated, as we rise up again.
An everlasting dawn, radiating brighter as we blaze into now…

Alex and I will be leaving for Hamburg for the Reeperbahn Festival next week! This will be a very emotional trip for us both since this is where it all started for him on an international level after we played three times in front of the European music industry back in 2019! 

I’ll share more about this in the upcoming weeks!

J'espère que tu vas bien ! Je tenais à remercier tous ceux qui se sont joints à moi samedi dernier, car j'ai eu l'immense privilège de partager avec tout le monde le nouveau package de cette année ainsi que ce grand concours autour de la mandoline électrique "Little Red Wonder" (Petite merveille rouge) d'Alex ! Quel moment incroyable !!!

La présentation de ce concours fut vraiment ma partie préférée de l'émission, car je me souvenais à quel point c'était cool de se tenir juste à côté d'Alex alors qu'il présentait "doucement" et "amoureusement" cette petite merveille rouge aux cymbales de Moose ! J'ai même parfois dû poser mes pieds sur le support de cymbale car il ne pouvait pas gérer la passion d'Alex tout seul !!! Être sur la route me manque tellement, ce qui rend ce concours encore plus excitant car il apporte avec lui tant de moments et d'émotions inoubliables ! Cette mandoline électrique est si singulière, si significative, quelque chose au-delà d'un instrument de musique, ce qui serait déjà assez incroyable, mais celle-ci en particulier a tellement d'histoire qui lui est attachée qu'elle n'a tout simplement pas de prix !

Cet instrument est vraiment le prolongement de la puissante connexion qu'Alex avait avec vous qui étiez là tous les soirs lors de la dernière tournée. La façon dont cette passion s'est concrétisée ne consistait pas à casser quelque chose de beau, mais à amener cette connexion au niveau supérieur ! Nous avions envie de cette connexion humaine depuis des années, et vous avez été si généreux avec nous soir après soir, que c'était la façon très passionnée d'Alex de dire "merci beaucoup, c'est ce que ça fait d'être en vie après des années de privation de connexion humaine et d'absence totale de ce qui est plus que nécessaire !”

C'est aussi pour ça qu'il invitait certains d'entre vous sur scène avec cette mandoline à la main, puisque ces concerts, ces soirées, n'étaient pas à propos d'Alex, ni à propos de The Long Shadows, mais à propos de nous tous dans la salle, donnant naissance à quelque chose de bien plus grand que nous-mêmes, nous connectant à quelque chose de si réel qu'il vivra pour toujours en nous ! Quand quelqu'un du public arrive sur scène avec l'instrument d'Alex dans les mains et commence à faire rage avec nous, c'est l'incarnation parfaite de ce qu'étaient ces soirées ; nous, brillant plus fort alors que nous nous élevons à nouveau !

J'aurai l'occasion de m'asseoir avec Alex dans les semaines à venir, de lui poser des questions sur sa mandoline, en commençant par la façon dont il joue avec, pourquoi il la donne à quelqu'un dans le public à un moment donné, pourquoi il frappe ces cymbales à la fin, et enfin, pourquoi il l'offre maintenant à un membre très chanceux du Club ! N'hésite pas à m'envoyer toutes les questions que tu peux avoir car je veux vraiment que nous approfondissions tout ce qui entoure sa grande passion, comment il l'a vécue, comment il l'a créée et l'a incarnée soir après soir !

LE VOYAGE COMMENCE

J'aime toujours faire ces émissions en direct, pour présenter non seulement les aspects techniques du Club, mais aussi son esprit et son âme qui nous inspirent tous tellement ! Cela fait un peu plus de deux ans que je suis devenu l'hôte du Club, et ce fut un tel privilège pour moi de partager et de construire avec toi tout au long de ce voyage singulier autour de l'univers créatif d'Alex ! Cette année ne fait pas exception car nous entrons dans une nouvelle saison de ce voyage, c'est maintenant le moment pour Alex et nous tous dans The Long Shadows de travailler sur de nouvelles chansons ! Nous aurons une année passionnante et je t'accueillerai dans l'univers très éclectique et créatif d'Alex et dans ses projets musicaux à venir !

Comme j'ai eu la chance d'accueillir plusieurs nouveaux membres suite à cette émission en direct de samedi dernier, j'ai pensé qu'il était vraiment important de partager à nouveau le thème de cette année et les visuels des nouveaux packages ! J'ai vraiment hâte de voir ce que cela va nous dévoiler, et comment nous parviendrons à nous rapprocher au fur et à mesure que nous le traverserons, et comment cette année rendra les choses plus lumineuses à mesure que nous nous relevons !

Parfois, l’émergence inattendue de nouvelles sensations vibrantes révèle quelques fragments des images de demain, faites de bribes de souvenirs, de fractions fanées d’émotions transies disparues depuis longtemps, toutes reflétant des éclats de paroles insondées, de sons émancipés en attente d’exister, dont je peux discerner le mouvement sous-jacent de la renaissance de la vie alors que nous nous réveillons lentement du désespoir d’un cœur brisé…

Restauré, ravivé, renouvelé.
Libéré, alors que nous nous relevons.
Une aube éternelle, rayonnant de plus en plus alors que nous flambons maintenant en elle…

Alex et moi partons pour Hambourg pour le Reeperbahn Festival la semaine prochaine ! Ce sera un voyage très émouvant pour nous deux puisque c'est là que tout a commencé pour lui au niveau international après avoir joué trois fois devant l'industrie musicale européenne en 2019 !
