Hey,

I hope you’re doing well! I just finished counting the number of messages I received since I first asked you to send me pictures, and I stopped counting after a few hundreds as I would probably still be here doing so until sundown! :) This is so incredible, inspiring, and it’s with a true humble heart that I want to thank you all for your involvement in what will be such a recollection of unforgettable treasures! What a great way to start this Saturday while listening to Radiohead’s incredible 2003 album Hail to the Thief. 

As I was running through all those pictures earlier on, I started thinking about how this European tour photo book project doesn’t obviously involve everyone, which gave me an idea! As you know, we’re about to start working on what will be Alex’s new musical journey (I don’t use the word album when it comes to Alex, since we never know where this journey will lead him and us all afterwards once we get started. I love to keep some doors open – it’s called experience!) 

Here’s the thing: I would simply like to know if you have any questions regarding Alex heading back to the studio to work on what will come next after Windows in the Sky, Standing Under Bright Lights, all those direct-to-vinyl live performances we did in our church-studio and at Alex’s home in Virginia, as well as the recently-released single The Power of the Heart!

I’m asking this since I realized I probably was as curious as you all might be right now… Because to be honest with you – and I think it’s a wonderful thing – I don’t have any clue whatsoever of where this next musical journey will lead us, which makes me feel and stand right in the middle of being really excited and thrilled but doubtful and frightened as well... A very strange place to be! 

So, please, by all means, feel free to send me any questions you might have about how we’re getting prepared and ready for such a journey with Alex…! It can be anything, from what’s a day like as he’s preparing himself, to what music he’s listening to, books he’s reading, how the actual state of the world affects him, influences him, or even moves him! Whatever comes to your mind (gently excluding how old he is and what he eats for breakfast!) All you have to do is to reply to this email and it comes straight to me alone!

J'espère que tu vas bien ! Je viens de finir de compter le nombre de messages que j'ai reçus depuis que je vous ai demandé de m'envoyer des photos pour la première fois, et j'ai arrêté de compter après quelques centaines car je serais probablement encore là à le faire jusqu'au coucher du soleil ! :) C'est tellement incroyable, inspirant, et c'est avec un cœur vraiment humble que je tiens à vous remercier tous pour votre implication dans ce qui sera un tel souvenir de trésors inoubliables ! Quelle belle façon de commencer ce samedi en écoutant l'incroyable album Hail to the Thief de Radiohead en 2003.

Alors que je parcourais toutes ces photos plus tôt, j'ai commencé à réfléchir au fait que ce projet de livre photo de la tournée européenne n'impliquait évidemment pas tout le monde, ce qui m'a donné une idée ! Comme tu le sais, nous sommes sur le point de commencer à travailler sur ce que sera le nouveau voyage musical d'Alex (je n'utilise pas le mot album quand il s'agit d'Alex, car nous ne savons jamais où ce voyage le mènera, lui et nous tous par la suite, aussitôt que nous commençons. J'aime garder certaines portes ouvertes - c'est ce qu'on appelle l'expérience !)

Voici donc mon idée : Je voudrais simplement savoir si tu as des questions concernant le retour d'Alex au studio pour travailler sur ce qui fera suite à Windows in the Sky, Standing Under Bright Lights, tous ces concerts enregistrés directement sur vinyle que nous avons faits dans notre église-studio et chez Alex en Virginie, ainsi que le single récemment sorti  The Power of the Heart !

Je pose cette question car j'ai réalisé que j'étais probablement aussi curieux que tu pourrais l'être en ce moment… Parce que pour être honnête avec toi - et je pense que c'est une chose merveilleuse - je n'ai aucune idée de l'endroit où ce prochain voyage musical nous conduira, ce qui m'amène à vivre des émotions mitigées, être vraiment excité et ravi mais aussi dubitatif et effrayé... Un endroit très étrange où se trouver !

Alors n'hésite pas à m'envoyer toutes les questions que tu pourrais avoir sur la façon dont nous nous préparons pour un tel voyage avec Alex…! Cela peut être n'importe quoi, de ce à quoi ressemble une journée pendant qu'il se prépare, à la musique qu'il écoute, aux livres qu'il lit, à la façon dont l'état actuel du monde l'affecte, l'influence ou même l'émeut ! Tout ce qui te vient à l'esprit (en excluant son âge et ce qu'il mange au petit-déjeuner !) Tout ce que tu as à faire est de répondre à cet e-mail et je vais recevoir directement ta réponse !
