About “Standing Under Bright Lights”
“Standing Under Bright Lights” is a live album, featuring the entirety of Alex Henry Foster’s first concert at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal on July 5, 2019. It includes the live rendition of every song from his album “Windows in the Sky”, performed by an 11-piece band.

Standing Under Bright Lights takes place approximately 6 months after the release of Alex Henry Foster's phenomenal first solo album Windows in the Sky, that not only debuted at number 3 on the Canadian top 200, right behind Imagine Dragons and Muse, but that also stayed on the top 40 for a year after its initial release, scoring a nomination for best album of the year in Canada while being internationally acclaimed and added to several best albums shortlists all over the world.

The concert was to be a one-off happening, a homage to Foster's late father, who had died almost 5 years prior, almost to the day of the event. It would consist of the entire album Windows in the Sky, re-invented for the occasion as an 11-piece band set to perform along a movie projection produced by Foster. Also based on Foster's vision, award-winning light engineer Pascal Boily created a unique scenic installation, offering an immersive universe where music, movie projections, and light co-existed. Alex wanted for the public to be invited to dwell on the moment rather than have the sensation of attending a concert.

À propos de “Standing Under Bright Lights” :
“Standing Under Bright Lights” est un album live, sur lequel se trouve l'intégralité du premier concert d'Alex Henry Foster au Festival International de Jazz de Montréal le 5 juillet 2019. Il inclut la version live de chaque chanson figurant sur son album “Windows in the Sky”, joué par un groupe de 11 musiciens.

Standing Under Bright Lights se déroule environ 6 mois après la sortie du phénoménal premier album solo d'Alex Henry Foster, Windows in the Sky, qui a non seulement fait ses débuts au troisième rang du top 200 canadien, juste derrière Imagine Dragons et Muse, mais qui est également resté sur le top 40 pendant un an après sa sortie initiale, remportant une nomination pour le meilleur album de l'année au Canada tout en étant acclamé internationalement et ajouté à plusieurs listes de sélection des meilleurs albums partout dans le monde.

Le concert devait être un événement unique, un hommage au défunt père de Foster, décédé près de 5 ans auparavant, presque jour pour jour, pendant lequel l'album entier "Windows in the Sky" serait joué, accompagné pour l'occasion d'un groupe de 11 musiciens qui se produirait le long d'une projection de film produite par Foster. Également basé sur la vision de Foster, l'ingénieur lumière primé Pascal Boily a créé une installation scénique unique, offrant un univers immersif où la musique, les projections de films et la lumière coexistaient. Alex voulait que le public soit invité à plonger dans le moment plutôt que d'avoir la sensation d'assister à un concert.
