About The T-Shirt “Silence Is Murder”:
"The last few weeks have been emotional for us all, from the 84-year-old father of one of our friends and team member who contracted COVID-19 and ultimately won his battle after a terrible time fighting for his life, to the sickening images of George Floyd’s execution and the anger we were consumed with afterward, and all the way to our band rehearsals and the live stream moment we had the privilege to commune with you through our reinterpretation of the song Lavender Sky for our direct-to-vinyl project.

Regardless of how emotionally exhausted we were, that communal moment helped us turn any negative energy we were struggling with in an uplifting determination to keep on working towards the overcoming resolution of hatred and hopelessness we have all been facing, whoever we are and wherever we are from, for way too long…

The wounds are deep, and I know that the only idea of being able to collectively oversee a possible future healing and a restorative process might currently seem like a utopian vision at best, but without this active faith in the upcoming establishment of a world made of equality for all, only violence will remain… And if there’s a thing we can learn from the past, it’s that violence has never healed anyone nor built anything for anybody. So I’d rather hold onto my transformative utopia at this point than feed an already implacable reality with any piece of my own faithlessness and discouragement.

Therefore, in order to turn my disgust and indignation into a tangible and positive action, I decided to craft the t-shirt “Silence Is Murder” by offering all the t-shirt profits to Amnesty International, an organization I’ve been actively engaged with for more than a decade now. This is my way to support their education and awareness initiatives in schools and communities regarding the fundamental necessity for equality and human rights for all without exception.

It’s more than ever essential to take a moment to reflect, to stand, to speak out and build as one, so that one day, children won’t have to fight for their rights, but will be able to dream about what they’ll create for others with them.

À propos du t-shirt "Silence Is Murder" :
Les dernières semaines ont été très émotionnelles pour nous, du père âgé de 84 ans de l’un de nos amis et membre de l’équipe qui a contracté le COVID-19, qui a finalement remporté la bataille après un terrible combat pour sa vie, les images écoeurantes de l’exécution de George Floyd et la colère qui nous a envahis ensuite, jusqu’aux répétitions du groupe et le moment en direct que nous avons eu le privilège de partager avec vous à travers notre réinterprétation de la chanson Lavender Sky pour notre projet direct-to-vinyl.

Peu importe à quel point nous étions émotionnellement épuisés, ce moment ensemble nous a aidés à transformer toute énergie négative avec laquelle nous luttions dans une détermination édifiante à continuer de travailler à la résolution de la haine et du désespoir auxquels nous avons tous été confrontés, qui que nous soyons et où que nous soyons, depuis trop longtemps…

Les blessures sont profondes, et je sais que la seule idée de pouvoir apporter collectivement une éventuelle guérison future et mettre en place un processus de restauration pourrait actuellement sembler au mieux une vision utopique, mais sans cette foi dans la création prochaine d'un monde basé sur l'égalité pour tous, seule la violence restera… Et s'il y a une chose que nous pouvons apprendre du passé, c'est que la violence n'a jamais guéri personne ni rien construit pour personne. Je préfère donc conserver mon utopie transformatrice à ce stade-ci plutôt que d'alimenter une réalité déjà implacable avec n'importe quelle parcelle de ma propre infidélité et de mon découragement.

Alors, afin de transformer mon dégoût et mon indignation en une action tangible et positive, j'ai décidé de concevoir le t-shirt « Silence Is Murder » en offrant tous les bénéfices du t-shirt à Amnesty International, une organisation à laquelle je participe activement depuis plus d'une décennie maintenant. C'est ma façon de soutenir leurs initiatives d'éducation et de sensibilisation dans les écoles et les communautés concernant la nécessité fondamentale de l'égalité et des droits de l'homme pour tous sans exception.

Il est plus que jamais essentiel de prendre le temps de réfléchir, de s’élever, de s'exprimer et de construire ensemble, afin qu'un jour, les enfants n'aient pas à se battre pour leurs droits, mais puissent rêver de ce qu'ils vont créer pour les autres avec eux.
